After making initial, low-cost improvements, to achieve an ‘average’ energy star rating of ~3 Stars, including shower heads, blocking chimneys, insulation and sealing exhaust fans for example. We decommissioned all gas appliances and replaced them with high efficiency reverse cycle air conditioners, a heat pump hot waters system and added a 6.6kW solar PV system. Resulting in the following findings:
Scorecard Energy Star Rating: 10.0 Stars (6.6 without solar)
Energy costs: -$500/annum ($675/annum without solar)
GHG emissions: -3,753kg C02e/annum (2,757kg C02e/annum without solar)
